TERAJU’s SUPERB in collaboration with Motonation 2017 to help shape young talents for automotive entrepreneurial development

Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera (TERAJU) has entered into an agreement with Procara Entertainment Sdn Bhd, the main organizer of the upcoming Motonation 2017 for the staging of the SUPERB Walk-In Bizpitch @Motonation 2017 competition.

In the agreement signed between the parties today, TERAJU has entered into a collaboration with the organizer to unearth young Bumiputera talents to take part in the inaugural SUPERB Walk-In Bizpitch @Motonation 2017.

Winners with the most compelling automotive business model would each stand to win the grand prize of up to RM500,000 from TERAJU SUPERB.

In a statement issued today, the collaborative partners, said “SUPERB Walk-In Bizpitch @Motonation 2017 will have as its central theme calling for creative and innovative ideas related to the automotive sector which could range anything from automotive workshops, auto detailing, auto tuners and modifications, new inventions, manufacturing technologies, related support services, auto servicing methodologies and many more.”

SUPERB, the Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Startup Scheme, is a competition primarily designed to assist emerging individuals or companies, nurture and expand discoveries, ideas, or inventions from various sectors and categories into successful entrepreneurial business models. SUPERB which was rolled out in 2014, is one of TERAJU’s many initiatives in spearheading progress through meaningful, resilient and sustainable Bumiputera economic participation.

Motonation, on the other hand, is Malaysia’s first automotive and lifestyle carnival in which the main event will be held at the PICC in Putrajaya from 1-3 December. The carnival would house all the automotive industries, lifestyle, sub-cultures and support industries as well as having family activities such as food trucks, wall climbing, go-cart, virtual arcade gaming, Lego activities and much more to draw the crowds especially auto aficionados. In promoting the main event, Motonation has embarked on a nationwide roadshow programme with the first held recently on the 5 August in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

Under the Motonation Roadshow programme, applicants may participate via the SUPERB walk-in BizPitch at each location and vie for a chance to be among the top finalists to compete in the final programme in December at the main Motonation event at PICC. Winners from the automotive sector will be given a grant of up to RM500,000.00 each and will after the event undergo further training under the Superb programme.

Simultaneously at Motonation 2017, TERAJU’s Institut Keusahawanan Negara (INSKEN), will also be organizing the INSKEN Motonation Foodtruck 101 comprising three components to include live training, sharing sessions with successful food truckers and one-to-one coaching during the INSKEN Meet the BisKaunselor clinics. Those aspiring to launch a food truck business or those desiring to improve their businesses will find excellent one-to-one real-time coaching opportunities here at Motonation 2017 in December.

Officiating at the collaboration signing today at the National Art Gallery were Tan Sri Khalid Ramli, Chairman/Advisor of Procara Entertainment Sdn Bhd and Megat Mohd Yatim bin Megat Hamid, Senior Director of TERAJU along with the Director of the National Art Gallery, Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Najib bin Ahmad Dawa.

National Art Gallery would play host for the second edition of Motonation Roadshow, the first location to for the SUPERB Walk-In BizPitch on Saturday 26 August 2017. 5 more upcoming roadshows will be held after National Art Gallery covering Johor Bahru, Penang, Melaka , Sabah and Sarawak and all of these locations will host the similar SUPERB walk-in Bizpitch.

In the second edition of the Motonation Roadshow and collaborating with the National Art Gallery, Motonation will be hosting the first ever ‘Motoring Art Festival’, housing the automotive art industries such as airbrush, metal fabrication, automotive art and painting, graffiti contest by 8 artists, autosalon showoff battle, artists and artisans meet & greet, merdeka day coloring contest, classic & modern vehicles exhibition and many more.
