ERL line services disrupted due to hail storm
Some trees were blown onto both Express Rail Link (ERL) tracks between Bandar Tasik Selatan and Putrajaya, causing all train services to be suspended due to a severe storm hitting the city yesterday evening.
ERL Sdn Bhd in a statement through it’s facebook status to date said the service also snapped the power line on one track.
“One KL International Airport (KLIA) Ekspres train and one KLIA Transit train en route to the airport were stranded between these two stations.
The evacuation of stranded passengers onboard the two trains have been completed.
“All passengers were brought to KL Sentral with some dropped off at Bandar Tasik Selatan,” said ERL Sdn Bhd in a statement, here, today.
It added that their maintenance personnel were now on site to assess the damage to the trains, tracks and the power line.
“A limited train shuttle service between KLIA2 and Putrajaya was started at 6:55pm at 30-minute frequency and will continue to run until the end of normal operation hours tonight,” it said.
ERL advises the public to make alternative travel arrangements for tonight unless they are using the train shuttle service between KLIA2 and Putrajaya.
Services will resume tomorrow, Saturday June 4 June with both KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services combined. — BERNAMA
