When banks employ gangsters to repossess
In Kota Baru, a 38-year-old man was seriously injured after he was attacked by five masked men with parang and swords in Kampung Parit Melor here, at 7.30pm last night.
Kota Baru District Police chief ACP Baharom Abu said the attackers were unhappy with the victim, a friend and his employer who had fought and chased them off when they tried to repossess a car belonging to his employer earlier at 2.30pm.
“The suspects returned wearing masks and armed with parang and swords and attacked the victim and his friend who were guarding his employer’s house, at 7.30pm,” he said when contacted here, today.
He said the victim’s friend managed to escape but the former was slashed repeatedly on the head, left ribs and his left arm and hand, which was also broken, near the house, before the suspects escaped in a Perodua Alza.
“The victim was found by his younger brother bathed in blood, sent to the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital and is reported stable,” he said, adding that police were tracking down his assailants.
