Not sold here, not sold there
A recent visit to the leading bookstores in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya reveal that the book Money Logging by Lukas Straumann is not readily available. Borders and MPH are not carrying the book. Neither is the largest book store Kinokuniya which had some copies. Last week, it no longer displayed it on the shelves.
The largest online retailer Amazon.com where much of the controversy had surfaced, is not shipping. As explained in an earlier post, the book is nothing but one long rant about how law enforcement units across half a dozen major countries don’t agree with the Bruno Manser Fund. Why not? Ah, says the author, Sarawak governor Abdul Taib Mahmud is so powerful that the US, Canadian, German and other countries are scared of him.
